Project overview
The challenge
Pleavin Power received the call on a Friday evening from our client requiring 5MW at 415V for their manufacturing plant that had lost all power after a contractor struck their direct 11kV incoming supply. The situation was intensive. The site required scaffolding, extensive quantities of cabling, and a significant volume of low-voltage temporary power generation to reinstate operations safely and efficiently.
The Solution
We rapidly deployed 5MW of temporary generation, which was PDI’d and loaded from our main facility in Bromborough within hours of receiving the call.
Fourteen lorries were organised through our trusted approved supplier contractor portfolio, and additional surplus cabling was dispatched from a secondary cabling supplier due to the extensive quantities required.
The temporary system was carefully designed to operate across separate areas of the facility, connecting into multiple low-voltage substation locations to restore power where it was needed most.
THE OUTCOME
All equipment arrived on time, and our Project Manager was onsite within hours to assess the situation and define the fastest route to restoring supply.
It was determined that underground jointing of the damaged 11kV cable would provide the quickest solution. Pleavin Power coordinated the jointing works, ensuring they were completed, tested, and safely returned to service.
Once the facility had been operating reliably and all parties were satisfied, the temporary generators, cabling, and scaffolding were stood down and the site was successfully returned to its HV supply.
