When a top-tier educational facility began experiencing critical supply issues yesterday, they turned to Pleavin Power for urgent emergency power support. Within just 90 minutes, our specialist engineers were on-site conducting a full-load risk assessment and site feasibility survey to determine the most effective solution for maintaining power resilience.
With GCSE exams commencing next week, uninterrupted power continuity was crucial to ensure minimal disruption to students and staff. Any outage could compromise exam schedules, IT infrastructure, lighting and safety systems. Our team immediately engaged with the local Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to coordinate a safe and compliant temporary power deployment plan.
To mitigate the risk of disruption, Pleavin Power supplied and commissioned a 550kVA generator, paired with a high-speed Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS). This setup was designed to maintain seamless power continuity in the event of a mains failure.
What Emergency Power Did We Install?
- 550kVA Prime Rated Generator
Powered by a Volvo Penta engine and Stamford alternator, offering robust performance and emissions compliance with Stage IIIA standards. - Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS)
Rated and tested to BS EN 60947-6-1, providing rapid, automatic switch-over to generator power without operator input. - 24/7 Remote Monitoring & Control
Integrated GSM telemetry allows continuous monitoring of key parameters — including load, temperature, fuel levels, and fault alerts — directly from our control centre. - Site Safety and Compliance
As always, all cabling, earthing and site safety equipment was installed to meet NICEIC and HSE standards, keeping everything secure and compliant.
At Pleavin Power, rapid deployment and technical expertise are the backbone of our emergency power services. This installation ensured uninterrupted power continuity during a critical academic period — reinforcing our commitment to supporting essential services when it matters most.
