As 2024 comes to an end, it’s time to look back on what’s been a defining year for Pleavin Power. From winning awards to securing key partnerships, this year has been full of challenges and achievements that have shaped our journey. Here’s a look at some of the highlights.
Contractor of the Year
This year we were proud to be named Contractor of The Year at the Electrical Industry Awards. This award isn’t just a trophy; it’s a testament to the resilience and determination of the team who drive Pleavin Power forward every day. We’ve faced plenty of challenges but it’s moments like these that show what we’re capable of.
New Contracts and Expansion
2024 has been a year of travel, site-surveys and growth, with some major contracts and partnerships being secured:
- Ministry of Justice: We have recently formalised a contract with the Ministry of Justice (MOJ), marking a significant milestone that presents considerable growth opportunities within the industry.
- Network Rail: We’re now an approved contractor for Network Rail, delivering planned, emergency and critical power services along with maintenance, sales and servicing across their network.
These partnerships reflect our commitment to steady, sustainable growth and our reputation as a trusted name in power generation.
Strategic Investments
This year we made some serious investments to ensure we’re ready for whatever comes next. Key highlights include:
- Adding a new hiab, more generators and an expanded cable stock to our fleet, allowing us to offer 24/7 nationwide availability to our customers.
- Launching our own brand of generators was a highlight this year and a major step forward for Pleavin Power.
These investments aren’t just about keeping up—they’re about staying ahead. They make sure we have the tools and resources we need to deliver for our customers no matter what.
The Future Power Academy
One of the standout moments of 2024 was the launch of the Future Power Academy. This initiative is about more than just training—it’s about building the next generation of engineers and inspiring fresh talent to join our industry.
In September we held our first Future Power Open Day, welcoming young people eager to learn what it takes to succeed in power generation. The event offered a behind-the-scenes look at life at Pleavin Power and was a great success. We’re excited to keep building on this with our next event in Spring 2025.
Reflecting on the Year’s Challenges
This year hasn’t been easy. Some months were quieter than expected while others pushed us to the limit. Through it all, our team’s determination and ability to adapt have kept us on track. With a clear focus on growth, we’re ending the year in a solid position – ready to reinvest in the business and tackle 2025 head-on.
