Passionate People. Powerful Solutions.

Our Commitment to social value and community engagement

At Pleavin Power, we believe that a successful business goes beyond delivering exceptional services to its clients—it also contributes positively to the community. Our commitment to social value drives us to support the local area and its people, from charitable donations to nurturing the next generation of engineers.

Future Power Day

We are deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of engineers through our comprehensive Future Power Academy initiative. This program is designed to engage, inspire, and support young people at different stages of their engineering journey.

Each year, we host Future Power Day, an annual event that offers aspiring engineers hands-on experience and insights into the power generation industry. Through interactive workshops, industry talks, and practical demonstrations, students can explore the exciting career opportunities in engineering and gain valuable exposure to the field. This engagement day serves as a first step for many young people who are interested in pursuing a career in engineering but may not yet know how to get started.

Supporting the next generation with 'Future Power Academy'

Building on the success of Future Power Day, the Future Power Academy takes this a step further by offering ongoing support through apprenticeship programmes and training opportunities. The Academy aims to provide young engineers with the practical skills, mentorship, and real-world experience needed to excel in the power generation industry. Our vision is to create a pipeline of skilled professionals who are well-prepared to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s energy needs.

Two members of the Pleavin Power team are part of the employment advisory board at Wirral Met, our local college as well as delivering careers talks at local schools. We aim to make a hands-on difference in our local community and support the future workforce.

We’re also in early-stage talks with organisations that support with Forces Transition to actively employ ex-military staff into our business.

North West Air Ambulance

We understand the critical importance of emergency services, especially in times of need. That’s why Pleavin Power regularly donates to the North West Air Ambulance. This vital service provides lifesaving medical attention to people in emergencies across the region, often reaching areas that are difficult to access by road. Our support helps ensure that this incredible service remains operational, giving people a better chance at survival when time is of the essence.

Pleavin Power support the local youth centre

As a Hive 100 member, Pleavin Power sponsors 10 young people, providing them with a ‘Year to Remember’. This sponsorship covers the cost of their annual membership, granting them free access to The Hive’s wide range of activities and a hot meal during every visit. By funding these memberships, we aim to ensure that local youth, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, can benefit from this incredible resource.

Opened in 2017, The Hive Youth Zone is a state-of-the-art facility offering young people in Wirral opportunities and experiences they can’t access elsewhere. With facilities ranging from a boxing ring and climbing wall to a music studio and hair salon, The Hive provides a safe and inspiring environment for its 2,260 members. It’s a place where young people can discover new skills, develop confidence, and transform their lives.

Jack Pleavin, CEO

Our commitment to supporting The Hive stems from a personal connection to the area and a deep desire to contribute to the reduction of poverty in Wirral. As Jack Pleavin, our founder, reflects:

“Growing up on the Wirral, it was often difficult to find engaging activities as a young person. Now, with amazing spaces like The Hive, young people have somewhere positive to go and something productive to do. Over the past seven years, The Hive’s volunteers, young people, patrons, and fellow Hive 100 members have achieved incredible things, and we are thrilled to be part of that journey. Wirral faces significant deprivation, and as a local business, we are passionate about playing a role in decreasing poverty and improving opportunities for our youth.”

Sponsorship of Princes Villa U7 Football Team

Investing in the youth of our community is central to our social values. We are proud to sponsor the Princes Villa Under 7 Football Team, providing young athletes with the resources they need to play, learn, and grow. Through this sponsorship, we help cover essential costs such as kits and equipment ensuring every child has the opportunity to participate regardless of their background.
