Pleavin Power set the standard for reliability at a waste centre
The Problem
A 30MW energy from a waste site suffered their fourth DNO supply cable failure of the year, putting their contractual obligations to collect and process waste in jeopardy.
The Solution
Within 12 hours of the request coming in, Pleavin Power provided two specialist HV transformer substations consisting of 400v/11kV step up transformers coupled with HV switches to provide additional points of isolation and control, both coupled to an 11kV RMU, allowing a singular point of connection to the customer’s network by Pleavin Power’s own SAP alongside the site’s SAP.
The Results
HV cabling was successfully modified and supplied to meet site-specific requirements.
Three synchronised 400V, 1250kVA generators were deployed with full cabling, distribution, and fuel management.
Continuous on-site support was provided during the outage, including load transfer management.
Safe operation was ensured through site instruction and formal handover to the site SAP.
Following repeat DNO cable failure, the temporary power system transitioned to long-term support.
The site has maintained full operational and contractual compliance throughout the incident.
