The Problem
When a global Pharmaceutical provider suffered generator issues Pleavin Power were recommended to the client and contacted to survey, assess and offer a cost effective repair solution. Unfortunately having already paid for a ‘reconditioned’ generator what we found was a shock, a generator that met no standards, regulations or could perform the critical power job required. After consolation with the company directors the unit was deemed unfit for purpose and was to be retuned to the original provider, Pleavin Power drafted a replacement strategy with a target of keeping the valuable refrigerated medicine, security systems and data centre backed-up at all times. We delivered and install temporary power via a temporary ATS system to allow the complete back up power system to be decommissioned, repaired and recommissioned with minimal risk to the client’s operations.
The Solution
With the site supported via temporary back up generation and automatic transfer system we set about making the existing system safe, decommissioning the generator and preparing the site for a new high specification machine to be installed. We completed extensive switchgear modifications which included DSE ATS controls & G99 relays to allow for the new generator to operate with the switchgear and have synchronisation capabilities for future site plans. We installed a Diesel Defence system to maintain the onsite fuel supply quality before installing the new Himoinsa 500kva and commencing commissioning. We worked closely with the client’s consultants and within the CDM regulations to deliver and handover this seamless solution. the site is now protected by an advanced power system and supported by one of our industry leading SLA Agreements.
