After 16 months of meticulous planning, commitment and hard graft by the team, we were proud to welcome our client to Pleavin Power HQ this week to witness a significant milestone in our ongoing project: the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of three bespoke 200kVA generator packages.
We’re pleased to report that the project was a complete success, paving the way for the first on-site installation, which commences next week.
What The Factory Acceptance Test Involved
These bespoke units are part of a broader initiative involving the supply and customisation of three Pleavin Power 200kVA diesel generators, designed to deliver continuous, reliable power to critical signalling infrastructure.
Each generator has been meticulously engineered to meet stringent operational, safety and remote management requirements, incorporating a range of client-specified upgrades:
-
3000-Litre External Fuel Tanks
High-capacity, bunded steel tanks designed for extended operation. Integrated with remote fuel level monitoring systems, they provide real-time tracking and usage analytics, facilitating proactive fuel management and reducing the risk of unexpected downtime.
-
Gen Stream Remote Monitoring System
This advanced system offers full remote access to engine parameters, including status indicators, performance metrics and diagnostic data. Features include live operational data streaming, GPS tracking and alert notifications, enabling proactive maintenance and operational control.
-
Custom Paint Finish
Application of a client-specified durable paint finish ensures all-weather operation and visual compliance. This coating provides enhanced protection against environmental factors, contributing to the longevity and reliability of the units.
-
Phase 3 Sequential Connection Points
Designed for safe and efficient connection of load cables, these connection points facilitate correct phase sequencing, minimising the risk of electrical faults and ensuring seamless integration into existing power systems.
-
Three-Way Fuel Valves
These valves provide flexible fuel routing options between the main tank, auxiliary supply and service modes. This flexibility enhances operational efficiency and allows for uninterrupted power supply during maintenance or fuel source switching.
-
Fire Valves with Alarm Integration
Automated fire protection systems equipped with integrated alarm mechanisms enable immediate response and system shutdown in case of fire risk. This integration enhances safety measures, protecting both equipment and personnel.
-
Upgraded Schneider Circuit Breakers
Enhanced electrical protection is achieved through the installation of high-grade Schneider circuit breakers. These breakers ensure robust circuit isolation and effective fault management, contributing to the overall safety and reliability of the power system.
Collaboration from Start to Finish
These machines represent a first for our client—fully supported by our 24/7 Gen Stream monitoring platform. From the initial design phases through to the successful Factory Acceptance Test, this project has been a testament to technical precision, ongoing collaboration and a steadfast commitment to quality at every stage.
As we move into the installation phase next week, we’re proud of the achievements so far and look forward to the continued success of this project, strengthened by the close partnership with our client.
