In order to determine if reconditioned engines are like new, there are a multitude of factors that you should take into consideration. The first is one that is fairly obvious. This is how many hours that particular generator has clocked in. Simply put, if a particular generator has amassed a small number of hours in comparison to one that has amassed a large number of hours – you would feel a greater sense of satisfaction opting for the generator with fewer hours – simply due to the fact that the likelihood of it breaking down is far less.

Another key benefit to purchasing a reconditioned engine is the fact that it can be installed and operational a lot sooner. Rather than worrying about limited availability, your reconditioned generator can be with you far sooner whilst being up and running in no time.

In essence, reconditioned generators will be far less expensive than if you were to opt for a brand new generator. There are some caveats with this, however. The most important being the condition of the generator. If it is a respectable price coupled with a decent quality generator – then you should rest easy knowing that you have made a decent purchase.

Should you be on the market for a generator, it is always worth reviewing your options. More often than not you find that people are asking the question – is it worth getting a reconditioned generator? In order to find out if one is worth the money that you are spending, there are several factors that you need to take into consideration. One such factor is the age of the generator itself. Not just the age of the generator is important, however, this should be coupled with the hours of use the generator has received.

The physical wear and tear of the generator is something that you will need to consider also. Regarding the condition, you should review things such as any damage to the generator with the wiring of the generator also. Ultimately reviewing how well the generator has been maintained.

Overhauling a generator engine is what is known as a restorative repair process. This process serves to restore the performance of the key components found within a diesel generator. Our experts at Pleavin Power understand the best process to overhaul the engine of a generator. This involves a multitude of steps so it is imperative that the best practices are met to ensure the generator becomes operational prior to it breaking down.
